1) The proposed installation, by virtue of its height, location and insufficient screening, would be unduly prominent when viewed from the street scene. Furthermore, when taken together with the other 4 installations and street furniture within close proximity of the application site, the street scene would appear cluttered. This would have a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of the area, contrary to policies G5 and G10 of the Guildford Borough Local Plan 2003 (as saved by CLG Direction 24 September 2007).
