What is Guildford Business Forum?
Guildford Business Forum is a partnership between Guildford Borough Council, Surrey Chambers - Guildford and businesses based in the borough of Guildford. It enables a frank dialogue between all parties, an opportunity to hear all sides of an issue and to work together to maintain a dynamic commercial environment.
Guildford enjoys a mixed business community, home to many long-established home grown firms, large and small in all sectors. In recent years it has attracted many international and European firms to locate in the borough.
Guildford Business Forum aims to:
- promote Guildford as a good location in which to invest
- encourage all who work in Guildford to provide the highest quality of service and to be ambassadors for the Borough
- maintain an environment whereby Guildford Borough Council, Surrey Chambers - Guildford, local businesses and other organisations can work in partnership to increase the Borough's prosperity

The Forum will achieve this by:
- encouraging collaboration between private and public sectors and also among businesses themselves
- enabling members of the business community to come together for networking and support
- providing, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, an authoritative voice for the business community and the Borough Council to lobby on Guildford's behalf
- acting as a consultative body providing dialogue between the business community and the Borough Council
The activities of the Guildford Business Forum are coordinated by a Steering Group. Most of the action takes place in one of the six sector groups which are a joint collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce. These are: Town Centre Management, Retail, Tourism & Leisure, High-tech & Manufacturing, Professional and Property & Transport.
