We are working with The Carbon Trust, Surrey Chambers of Commerce and Kingston University to advise local businesses on how to reduce energy their usage.
The Carbon Trust is offering free energy audits to businesses if their energy spend is over £50,000 per year.
In addition Surrey Chamber of Commerce and Kingston University are offering free environmental reviews to show how businesses can:
The review can be offered to any business that either has:

between 10 and 250 employees and is a non-office based company, or
-
an office-based company responsible for the maintenance of the premises, that has energy, water and waste bills for the past year.

Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs)
ECAs enable a business to claim 100% first year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery. There are 3 schemes for ECAs.

Transport
Guildford Borough Council leads by example with the development of a Company Travel Plan. We can provide guidance and assistance to any company that wants to promote sustainable forms of transport. A Travel Plan can tackle parking problems, make cost savings and improve the health of staff. The Energy Saving Trust (this page opens in a new window) provides information on cleaner vehicles, travel plans and how to obtain grants.
GBC Business Recycling Scheme
Another way that businesses can help reduce waste going to landfill. By signing up to the scheme, a 10% saving is instantly made.
