Roses and trees

Example of a Granite plaque

Roses
There are a number of rose beds in the Garden of Remembrance which have standard roses available for dedication.

Large selections of roses of varying species are pre-planted within the Garden. Therefore it may be possible to select a preferred variety or colour of rose from those available.

Trees
Memorial trees are available for dedication in many parts of the Garden and include Maple, Cherry, Silver Birch and Tulip Tree. If you are interested in dedicating a tree please contact the Bereavement Services Office to discuss the trees that are available.

Roses and trees are available for dedication for an initial period of five years, with the option to renew for a further period. A small plaque with a limited inscription is provided.

Alternatively, it is possible to have a black granite plaque with an inscription and illustration of your choice.

The engraved lettering and illustration is finished in either white enamel or 24 carat gold leaf. A proof of the layout will be sent to each applicant for approval.

During the dedication period, we accept full responsibility for the care and upkeep of the rose or tree, including replacement should this be necessary.
