What are the criteria for grants?
Grants will be assessed against the following criteria. Please note that you do not have to meet all the criteria:
Promoting independence
Supporting independent living and helping individuals to maintain and enhance their quality of life. This includes developing and supporting local alternatives to residential, hospital or institutional care.
Examples of successful applications:

Transport service for older or disabled people

Youth project for Disabled young people

Gardening scheme for older or disabled people
Promoting social inclusion
Developing learning, training, employment or leisure opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Supporting vulnerable people
Providing help and support to vulnerable people (children or adults) in their homes or within the community.
Examples of successful applications:
Making communities safer
Providing services to engage disaffected people and encourage them to make a positive contribution to the community, or providing services that contribute to the safety of the community as a whole.
Examples of successful applications:
Supporting carers in the community
Providing services that help and support carers (adults or children)
Examples of successful applications:
Facilitating and promoting better health in the local community
Providing services that can be seen to contribute to better health in the wider sense.
