West Horsley is a rural village with about 1,100 properties, adjacent to the north side of the North Downs, midway between Guildford and Leatherhead. The South part of the village provides good walking areas on the Downs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, whilst the middle part of the village is an attractive Conservation Area. Throughout West Horsley there are 41 Listed Buildings, the most noteworthy of which are the 11 Century Church, St Mary's and West Horsley Place.
There are three thriving (primary and junior) schools, two public houses, a Village Hall, four shops and two Garden Centres. In addition, as well as active football and cricket clubs and an excellent public Tennis Court, there are many clubs, societies and groups providing a rich social network for residents of all ages and interests. The Parish Council aims to preserve the Parish's historic and rural inheritance whilst providing modern facilities for an active community.
