
Reasons for control
- Mole hills have uneven surface making the area unsightly and dangerous.
- Damage to arable crops.
Biology
- The mole (Talpa europaea)
- They are about 12-16cm long.
- They have black velvety hair.
- They have large spade-like forefeet.
- Moles are solitary animals.
- They live underground in a series of tunnels, which they patrol looking for earthworms, their main source of food.
- They have one litter a year between February and June.
