New Parking Restrictions for Ash and Ash Vale

Following the informal consultation and public exhibition that were held in November 2006, and the formal advertisement of proposals in May 2007, Surrey County Council has made an order to amend the traffic regulation order regulating parking in various locations in Ash and Ash Vale. These changes are effective from Monday 1 October 2007.

In addition to various measures to protect junctions and ensure traffic flow, a 2 hour limited waiting period is proposed in the vicinity of the shopping parade in Wharf Road in order to encourage the turnover of vehicles using the spaces and thereby prioritise the parking spaces in front of the parade of shops for visitors. Similar limited waiting controls are proposed for the parking bays outside the businesses in Station Approach, near Ash Vale railway station.

Please find below a copy of the public notice detailing the changes, statement of reasons, relevant committee reports and plans showing the new and amended restrictions.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision thereof on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from 26 September 2007, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
