Following the informal consultation and public exhibition that were held in November 2006, and the formal advertisement of proposals in June 2007, Surrey County Council has made an order to amend the traffic regulation order regulating parking in various roads within Ripley. These changes are effective from Tuesday 6 May 2008.
In addition to various measures to protect junctions and ensure traffic flow, a number of formalised parking bays are being proposed. Some of which will be restricted to 2-hour limited waiting in the vicinity of the shops and businesses, and others which will be unrestricted. It is also proposed to introduce a number of disabled only parking bays. The operational hours of the restrictions associated within the existing parking bays are also being amended.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision thereof on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made there under has not been complied with may, within six weeks from 30 April 2008, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
