Hog’s Back Recyclers
This active group covers Puttenham, Compton and Normandy. They publish articles in the local parish magazines, promote recycling at village fetes, arrange Bring and Take events, organise Chipping Days and more! Puttenham has a community shredder.

Ban the Bag
Ban the Bag aims to reduce the use of single use plastic carrier bags in Guildford; to raise awareness of consumers and retailers of the harmful environmental impact of indiscriminate use of plastic bags; to encourage the public and retailers to use alternatives; and to lobby and work with other groups to minimise plastic bag use either locally or nationally.

Onslow Recyclers
This dynamic group writes for parish magazines, organises Bring and Takes and Chipping events, carries out door-step surveys, organises shop-window displays and has a busy community shredding programme.

Guildford has three community chipping schemes

SWAP
Stoughton Waste Action Project is closely linked to Stoughton Infants School and Northmead School. They arrange Book Swaps and Bring and Take events.

Tongham Fellowship
This new group is based around the Tongham and Normandy Free Church. They recycle textiles to Romania and organise Bring and Take events.

Wood Street Village
The Wood Street Village Horticultural Society has an active shredding group.
