Bring sites and recycling directory

Recycling Database

You can find your nearest recycling centre visiting the database above. You can search by your location or by the material that you would like to recycle.

There are over 30 recycling bring sites/centres in Guildford Borough providing a collection point for a wide range of materials:

  • Glass bottles & jars
  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Tins, cans & aerosols
  • Plastic bottles
  • Textiles & shoes
  • Books
  • Music - cds, vinyl, DVDs, cassette tapes
  • Aluminium foil
  • Engine oil
  • Printer Cartridges

If you have other items which you no longer want, such as computers, furniture or tools, please don't simply throw them away. Use our Recycling Directory to find a way of either reusing or recycling instead. The 2006 Recycling Directory is available as a PDF. It is 1.5 MB in size so may take a short time to open or download, but it is worth the wait!

Printer cartridge recycling banks have arrived in the borough!  You can now recycle your old computer printer cartridges at four bring sites across the borough, look out for the purple recycling banks at:

  • The Spectrum car park

Working with Environmental Business Products Ltd, one of the world's leading inkjet remanufacturer, we have been able to provide this great new scheme.

Recycling cartridges not only reduces waste and pressure on landfill, it also reduces the need for raw materials such as oil, used to make the plastic.  Each inkjet cartridge that is recycled saves the equivalent of around 1.5 pints of oil, while a recycled laserjet save nearly 2 pints! Remanufactured cartridges work just like new and cost far less.

Cartridge recycling will also help to save tiny lives as it raises funds for Tommy's, the baby charity, which carries out valuable research into premature death, miscarriage and stillbirth.
