Matilda Bishop aged 7 from Puttenham School Sent us this joke:
Q. What do you call a person balancing a purple box on their head, tossing paper into it?
A. A trick recyclist!
Did you know?
- Britain produces enough rubbish every day to fill Trafalgar Square to the top of Nelson's Column.
- If all the aluminium cans in the UK were recycled there would be 12 million fewer full dustbins each year.
- The energy saving from recycling one glass bottle will power a 100 watt light bulb for almost an hour.
Recycling activities and assemblies
We run lots of activities for schools to get involved with throughout the year, read on to find out more......
Are you interested in a composting or recycling assembly?
As part of our ongoing recycling campaign we are keen to promote home composting and recycling in school.
Both of our assemblies are fun and interactive and free to all schools within Guildford Borough.
The composting assembly covers the different materials which can be composted, how the composting process works and its importance to the environment. We even provide your school with a free compost bin after the session, if you would like.
The recycling assembly is just as much fun, introducing all of the materials which can be recycled in Guildford, the green and purple kerbside boxes and how material is recycled. It's also filled with interesting facts about recycling, which will amaze!
And don't forget......

Guildford Womble is always keen to come along to all school activities, including our assemblies.
And if your school has an idea to raise awareness and understanding of recycling, composting or in fact any environmental issue, funding is available. For further information see the following page
