Keep Guildford Clean Schools’ Competition 2007
Make a litter character
Pupil’s at The Raleigh School in West Horsley are celebrating winning £500 for a new computer for their school. School children from across the borough were invited to think about litter and the problems it causes and make a litter character out of materials that would normally have been thrown away. The character had to carry a message to remind people not to drop litter.
We were over whelmed by the number of entries we received and judging the models was very difficult. We felt Nicola’s character was very cleverly made and summed up why we all need to help keep Guildford clean.
Nicola is age 7 and her litter character was called Slippery Snail and it’s message to us all is “Sharp things hurt my feet, don’t drop litter in the street.”
The runners up were Wey House School and Ash Grange Primary
