Saturday 19 July – Sunday 3 August 2008
Striding, ambling, marching and hiking - around 700 walkers of all ages took part and enjoyed Guildford WalkFest 2008. More than 3,200 miles were covered over the fortnight, which aimed to raise awareness of Guildford's glorious attractions and beautiful countryside.

We had an exciting programme of walking events for everyone. Highlights included historic and adventure walks, sunset and night-time walks, town and countryside walks, nature and wildlife walks and themed walks.
Keith Chesterton the chair of the Walking Forum, was delighted with the numbers taking part. "I am especially pleased that so many people, about half the total, were taking part for the first time. I would also like to thank all the volunteers who designed and led such interesting walks."
