We are committed to providing a pleasant pedestrian environment and to promoting short journeys by foot.

As part of our walking strategy we have set up a walking forum which meets regularly to discuss walking issues within the borough.  Guildford Walking Forum is represented on the Transport for Guildford Group.  Improvements for walking is one of their aims.

The Guildford Walking Forum is made up of local people and organisations that encourage people to walk more and explore Guildford's glorious attractions by foot.

Our objectives are:

  • We want to raise people's awareness and increase the profile of walking in Guildford.
  • Promote the benefits of walking in Guildford.
  • To increase levels of walking in Guildford.
  • Campaign on walking issues in Guildford.
