Private landlords benefit from council scheme
More and more households are being housed in the private rented sector with the help of private landlords working in tandem with our Homes 4 U team.

Homes 4 U rent deposit scheme
Homes 4 U has been in existence for a number of years.  It provides a free tenant finder service to landlords and a dedicated support service to ensure tenancy success.

What Homes 4 U offers:

  • Free independent inventory services.
  • Saves you money in advertising and agency fees.
  • Offers a continuous supply of prospective tenants.
  • Provides housing health and safety inspections.
  • Provides you and your tenant with ongoing advice and support during the tenancy.
  • Gives you the final choice of tenants.
  • Maximizes your rental income.
  • Reduces void periods.
  • Gives you access to specialist housing advice and guidance.
  • Provides a fast track Housing Benefit service.
  • Invites you to landlord forums and meetings.


New bond scheme
Landlords who work in partnership with Homes 4 U can avoid tenancy deposit protection legislation.  Since April 2007, all new tenants nominated to landlords by Homes 4 U have been offered a bond.  This indemnifies landlords in respect of rent loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear and replaces the need for a cash security deposit.  Where bonds are taken by landlords instead of cash the deposit protection legislation does not apply.

Cllr Andrew French, Lead Member for Housing and Community, says:
