Emergencies

Borough Housing provide a full around the clock emergency service. Within 4 hours of getting a report an experienced tradesman will visit to deal with the problem.

What is an emergency?
Only repairs that could cause serious risks to people's health and safety or damage to the property will be treated as an emergency. Examples include:

  • Burst pipes
  • Total power failure
  • Dangerous roof or wall

How do I contact the emergency team?

  • Daytime 01483 444222
  • Evening & Weekends 01483 532122

Do not use the website or email to report emergencies.

What happens next?
If it is an emergency, the operator will arrange for an experienced tradesman to call. You must be there to let him in and stay whist the work is carried out. Remember, it may take up to 4 hours to reach you during busy periods.

If the repair can be carried out quickly the tradesman will do so. If a larger repair is needed the property will be made safe. This may mean:

  • Shutting off the water
  • Boarding up a broken window

The repair will then be completed during normal working hours.
