
Antarctic Hero: Edward Adrian Wilson

Join Isobel Williams for a special lunchtime presentation in connection with our current photographic exhibition 'With Scott to the Pole'. The presentation has a particular focus on Edward Wilson, the explorer, naturalist and artist, who was the only officer to go with Scott on both of the British Antarctic expeditions in the early 1900s, and who died with Scott on the return journey from the Pole in 1912. The illustrated talk also includes a short film shot by Herbert Ponting in 1911.

Painting the Downs: a demonstration by Chris Forsey

Chris Forsey will be performing a demonstration of the methods he uses in producing his paintings and will be on hand to answer any questions. Chris is exhibiting his work at Guildford House Gallery from 6 March to 27 March 2010. Please note: This demonstration is now fully booked. Join Richard Woodhouse, an internationally published wedding photographer for a free lunchtime talk. The talk is entitled “How to Take Better Pictures” and is an introduction on how to improve your photography using compact cameras.
Verity Darby

Verity Darby will be at Guildford House Gallery for a ‘Meet the artist’ session, talking about the inspiration behind her paintings and explaining the colour palette, materials and methods used.
Our free lunchtime talks are usually held in The Brew House in the courtyard of Guildford House Gallery and are getting more and more popular. Space is limited to 40 places and are free to attend but you must reserve your seat either:
