Family Lantern Making Workshop

Thursday 20 August 2009

10.30 - 12.30 pm and 1.30 - 3.30 pm

Photo: Lanterns

Come along and make a lovely decorated lantern based on a design by George Frederick Watts for the Apse of St. Pauls Cathedral, in London.

The workshop will involve creating and decorating your own lantern inspired by Watt's paintings and drawings on show at the Parables in Paint exhibition at Guildford House Gallery. This will be a fun activity using a variety of useful skills and techniques including making a wire frame, drawing, gluing and constructing to create your own original lantern to take home with you.

Joint project between Guildford House Gallery and the Watts Gallery, Compton.

  • All materials will be provided.
  • Children must be aged between 5-10 years on the date of the workshop and accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • No unaccompanied children will be allowed.
