Caroline's career started as assistant to a fashion photographer in London. A dedicated darkroom worker she processes and prints all her own work preferring traditional methods over digital. Her still life images originate in monochrome and are printed on chlorobromide fibre based paper. These are toned using sepia, gold or selenium. Some are then hand tinted using photo oil paints. It is a very time consuming and lengthy process but the final print has a depth and warmth that is unobtainable with prints from colour film. No two prints can ever be identical giving them their unique quality and individuality. Her new work comprises a series of plant portraits based on early Victorian prints. These are toned and hand tinted.

She has had many solo exhibitions in London and her limited edition prints are held in public and private collections in the UK, Europe, Japan and the USA. Her photographs have appeared in numerous publications and books.
Publication of her second book 'Portrait of a Shoot' is expected in late October 2008. Caroline is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and member of the Printing and Contemporary Distinctions Panels, Garden Photographers Association and the Association of Photographers. She was invited to join Arena in 1997.
