Ruth Netherton won the HSBC Award at the 2005 Guildford Art Society exhibition.

Flower painting has always been her love and although she has used other media, she has always returned to using watercolour. She tries to create a watery transparency in her work whilst layering wash over wash in order to achieve, hopefully, a feeling of slightly abstract.
