Jam

Drum Stool by Jam

Jam is a design and communications agency that animates an organisation’s brand through co-creating and designing powerful ideas. Powerful ideas impact and engage the internal and external audience of a brand in an inspiring way. Jam call what they do the art of branding.

Whirlpool’s expansion into Europe saw them take over all of Philips’s white goods appliances factories and focus on building a prestigious brand with quality and style. The ambition for the brand was to reach the design and lifestyle conscious consumer with a message of innovation, resourcefulness and design.

Robo Stacker by Jam

JAM envisaged a recycling project known as the 'Design to Communicate Recycling Project'. This led to a collection of four design items made from recycled washing machine drums; the Drum Stool, the Drum Table, the Robostacker (storage), and the Hoola-Hoop (display).

These designs captured the imagination of Whirlpool employees and the public alike. The products were displayed in Whirlpool Headquarters around the world and used in trade and recruitment fairs. JAM set up agents to distribute and sell the designs across Europe, Asia, and America. The products were exhibited in museums, galleries, and design shops. PR and marketing support generated priceless coverage across the world in magazines, books, radio, and TV and JAM was retained to further the ongoing success of the 'Design to Communicate Recycling Project'.
