Description of my work
Although my formal training is in traditional silver jewellery making, most of the jewellery work I produce is based around the use of pure silver in a liquid form, as well as an alloy and process I have developed and named RAVMorph. The ‘Morph’ aspect of my jewellery provides its distinctive and unique appearance with hues of gold, bronze, pink, blue and purple. The pure silver and base metal are combined with 23 carat gold leaf, gemstones and ‘found objects’ to provide the ‘storyline’ and to create different layers and textures.

Sometimes I chose to work on a larger scale, mostly with pewter, to create decorative mirrors and sculptural pieces. Working with metals is an ongoing learning process. Much of what I have learnt so far has been through experimentation. And regardless of the material and techniques used, ultimately it is design which drives me forward.
