Guildford House is the largest public art gallery in Surrey. The gallery is a unique 17th century town house retaining many original architectural features. It is located in the heart of Guildford in the historic High Street. This makes it a unique setting for a wide range of temporary exhibitions.
The following areas can be hired depending on availability:
- The Garden Room (on the ground floor)
- The First Floor Rooms (Landing, Powell Room, Pine Room and Study)
- Garden Room and First Floor Rooms (Landing, Powell Room, Pine Room and Study) combined
Exhibition hire is for a minimum of 3 weeks and a commission is taken on sales. Details of hiring, including hire fees, can be obtained from Diana Roberts by telephone on 01483 444742 or by emailing guildfordhouse@guildford.gov.uk
Guildford House Gallery is not a commercial gallery. Selling exhibitions are only one of a number of different types of exhibitions that we host during the year. Other exhibitions focus on local history, community groups, young artists, craft fairs and work from the borough collection. All exhibitions at Guildford House Gallery are selected on the basis of enjoyment and educational value to the public.
Please note that our exhibition schedule is planned at least one year in advance, and that it is possible that prospective hirers may incur a waiting period.
