The next generation of artists
Art Start III is a celebratory touring exhibition of Young People’s art from secondary schools, sixth form colleges and special schools across Surrey. The age range of the young artist’s is between 12 and 18 years old.
It is often during school age that a young person is inspired by an art teacher or project leading them to pursue a life long interest in the arts or take on an arts related career.
This exhibition celebrates this by displaying the talent produced by Surrey schools and giving an insight into the teaching projects and themes set by the teachers. The tour also acts as an opportunity for teachers to link with other schools and centres as well as being a resource to view art from other schools across the county.

This will be the third Art Start touring exhibition, where the first was in 2001 and second in 2005. Art Start III will take place at Guildford House Gallery from 8th September -13th October 2007 and from 18th October – 1st November at Gallery on the Green in Warlingham.
The tour is organised by Surrey County Arts, part of Surrey County Council.
Surrey County Arts is committed to displaying and supporting Surrey based artists. Other tours funded by Surrey County Arts include Surrey Graduates the Cream of the Crop and the popular Surrey Artists Open Studios.
