David Siouxnest

All My Own Work

A solo exhibition in The Brew House from 14 to 20 August 2007.
Open from 10am to 4pm daily - Free admission.

Painting by David Siouxnest

David Siouxnest is now 48 and has had no formal art training.  However, he has been creating powerful works in vivid colours from an early age in designs and styles that are unique to himself.

He was admitted to a psychiatric hospital at the age of 17, following a severe trauma and has been labelled as schizophrenic and manic every since.

David says:

"Art is an investment - principally an investment in the pleasure gained in looking at work acquired, but also possibly a financial nest egg as well."

David's art is becoming increasinly collected and valued and trading prices are rising well.

"I often do not set out to create a specific image but once I start on a piece of paper it seems that channels open up which take over the creative process and just form into good pictures".

Pen Drawing by David Siouxnest

The abstraction, allusions and underlying sexual tension in his work as well as distorted perspectives make an unusual combination often leaving the viewer to wonder if what they see is really there.
