What is South & South East in Bloom?

The competition is part of the largest horticultural campaign in Europe and similarly to the local competition, Guildford in Bloom, South East in Bloom encourages communities of all sizes to make positive and lasting sustainable improvements to their local environments. The scheme is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and awards points for quality floral features, permanent planting, wildlife habitats, planting for nature, residential gardens and business frontages, cleanliness, community projects, environmental education, conservation, waste prevention and green initiatives. Southern Water sponsors the competition in the south and south east of England. The results of our entry into South East in Bloom will be published in the autumn edition of Green Thymes as well as Guildford Borough Council’s About Guildford.
