Guildford in Bloom began in 1981 and was set up to encourage community participation in enhancing the attractiveness of Guildford for the benefit of residents, visitors and the local economy.  It seeks to help to promote an ongoing interest in environmental issues, initiate and support environmental improvements and encourage community involvement.  These objectives are achieved by the support of Guildford in Bloom sponsors and promoted through the Guildford in Bloom competition. 

Burns & Webber Estate Agents were established in Guildford in 1992 and have been the main sponsor of Guildford in Bloom since 2002. They have chosen to support and promote this campaign because they believe that Guildford Borough is an ideal place to live and work.  It has a diverse and thriving community, a rich heritage and stunning, unspolit, protected countryside.

The support of Burns & Webber will encourage residents to enter the In Bloom competition generating civic pride.  It also encourages many local groups from within the community to benefit from Greening the Borough grants, and help make newcomers to Guildford welcome; as visitors or in a business capacity seeking to expand and invest in this beautiful, historic town.
