In Bloom Photo Competition

In celebration of our green and beautiful borough, Guildford in Bloom is running a photographic competition for the first time.

Residents are invited to take a snap of their garden, hanging baskets, allotment, wildlife garden, school garden or other floral display to enter in to the new competition.

Cllr Jen Powell, Chairman of Guildford in Bloom, says: "The photo competition is a great way to capture the colourful displays around the borough and encourage residents to get involved in the popular Guildford in Bloom celebrations. The competition is open to photographers of all ages and abilities and we look forward to seeing the entries."

The winner of the photographic competition will be awarded a £20 garden voucher. A lucky runner-up will receive a £10 garden voucher. The closing date for entries is Friday 31 August, 2007. Entries will be judged by Nigel Chapman, official photographer at RHS Wisley and former RHS Photographer of the Year winner. The winner and runner-up will be invited to the Guildford in Bloom awards ceremony on 27 September 2007 held at Burchatts Farm Barn.
