Tree sponsorship


Sponsorship area:

Subsidised tree planting or helping to maintain a woodland. A great choice for individuals and corporate sponsors.

This can be used to:

  • Mark an anniversary or birthday
  • Remember a friend or loved one
  • Make an original gift
  • Or just because you want to help improve your environment

Sponsor benefits:

There are a range of options from individual gift or memorial planting to corporate sponsorship of woodlands resulting in spin off PR and brand association for your company with an environmental project.

The Premium:

What do I get?

  • A feathered tree approximately 1.5m in height, planted in a council owned park, woodland or open space
  • We will choose a site for you and plant a tree of appropriate species for the location
  • A certificate of sponsorship

Cost:

  • £20 for one tree
  • £35 for two
  • £50 for three

The Standard

What do I get?

  • A standard tree approximately 3.5m in height, planted in a Council owned park, woodland or open space.
  • You can choose the site from any Guildford Borough Council owned area and the species. We will make sure it's appropriate for the location. If it's not, we will offer some more suitable species or site.
  • A tree you can touch, feel, take photographs of, show to relatives and watch grow. Ideal to commemorate the birth of a child.
  • A certificate of sponsorship, stating where the tree has been planted
  • A plan of the location of the tree for your reference

Cost:

£60

The Arboretum

Make your mark in Guildford's premier tree site, Onslow Arboretum, off Manor Way, Onslow Village.

What do I get?

  • A standard tree as per the Standard scheme planted in the newly established arboretum
  • A certificate of sponsorship, stating where the tree has been planted
  • An overhead photograph showing the location of your tree
  • Your name and message on the main Arboretum signboard
  • And all the benefits of the Premium and Standard scheme

The arboretum has the theme Around the World in Eighty Trees. You can choose from a range of species:

United Kingdom: Yew, Silver birch, oak, hornbeam, lime, Scots pine, Wild cherry, Mountain ash, Whitebeam, beech, Common walnut, Aspen.

The Americas: Silver maple, Tulip tree, Black birch, Scarlet oak, Red maple, Wellingtonia, Western red cedar, Paper birch, Black walnut, Swamp cypress, False acacia, Sweet gum, Box elder, Cockspur thorn.

North Africa and Europe: Variegated poplar, Manna ash, Atlas cedar, Italian alder, Hungarian oak, Sweet chestnut, Horse chestnut, Turkish hazel, Serbian spruce, White poplar, Bird cherry, Weeping beech.

Asia: Snake bark maple, Handkerchief Tree, Foxglove tree, Maidenhair tree, Tree of Heaven, Indian bean tree, Himalayan birch, Oriental plane, Dawn redwood, Deodar cedar, White mulberry, Fastigiate cherry, Pride of India.

Australasia: Cider gum, Snow gum, Caucasian ash.

£75 per tree

The Ceremonial

Remember a friend or relative, celebrate an event, birthday or anniversary.

What do I get?

  • A standard tree as per the Standard scheme planted in a park, garden or woodland site managed by Guildford borough
  • A certificate of sponsorship, stating where the tree has been planted and why
  • An overhead photograph showing the location of your tree
  • An opportunity to attend the site and help plant the tree with friends, relatives or colleagues
  • All the benefits of the Premium and Standard scheme

Cost:

£100 per tree

The Prestigious

Contribute towards or sponsor a prestigious tree-planting scheme within the Borough.

What do I get?

  • Affiliation to a high profile scheme in the borough
  • A ceremonial planting
  • A certificate of sponsorship, stating where the tree(s) has been planted and why
  • Your or your companies name on all press releases and related literature
  • All the benefits of the Premium and Standard scheme

Cost:

From £250

The Woodland

We are actively managing their woodlands for the benefit of the environment and the public. The woodlands will be managed using traditional and modern forestry methods, new facilities and interpretation included where appropriate and opportunities to increase biodiversity and amenity encouraged. Opportunities are available for sponsorship of projects.

What do I get?

  • Affiliation to a high profile scheme in the borough
  • An opportunity to visit the site during works, to see where your money is going, or join other contributors and volunteers assisting with practical woodland management
  • A certificate of sponsorship, stating the name of the woodland and the environmental objectives that you have contributed to
  • Your or your companies name on all press releases and related literature
  • Further opportunities depending on project and financial contribution
