The Sixteen
Director Harry Christophers

The Sixteen is recognised as one of the world’s greatest ensembles. In a year of anniversaries, the group not only celebrates 30 years of music making but also revels in two of our country’s most influential composers. Purcell may have been born 350 years ago but his music sounds as modern today as it must have done then. This year James Macmillan celebrates his 50th birthday.  Macmillan's setting of O bone Iesu was commissioned by The Sixteen and is an inspired work for a unique choir, ideally suited to the spacious acoustic of the Cathedral.
