Q. What is the best thing about Guildford?
A. Great shops and the Spectrum  where I do all my fitness!

Q. What is the worst thing about living in Guildford?
A.
It’s an hour to the sea!

Q. When did you first sail?
A. When I was really young. I have a picture of me when I was about 3 months old, sailing with my mum on a topper when I lived in Spain. So, really young!

Q. Which sailing achievements are you most proud of?
A. Winning the Youth European Championships with a day to spare was a pretty amazing end to my career in the Youth Programme. We had trained so hard and were a bit disappointed, at the time, with our Bronze at the Youth Worlds, but now I can see that it is actually a really amazing achievement.

Q. What advice would you give to someone who wanted to start sailing?
A. Well there are two things you could do. You could have sailing lessons at an RYA (Royal Yachting Association)  recognised centre and work towards your Level 1 certificate. This way you will have your equipment provided and 1st class teaching. The nearest centre to Guildford is Queen Mary’s Water Sports near Staines. The other thing you could do is contact a local sailing club, and go and get involved. Everyone is so friendly in the sailing world and local sailing clubs will welcome new members. (The nearest club to Guildford is Papercourt Sailing Club ).
