Club development

Active Surrey Club Accreditation (ASCA)

What is ASCA?
We have taken all the criteria required for Clubmark and divided them into three easy to achieve levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.  With the help of sports development officers and your very own guidebook and ready-made templates, your club can work through the levels, putting into place procedures that will benefit your club.  As you progress you will receive advice, support, publicity, certificates of achievement and many other great rewards along the way!

For more information, and to see how other Guildford clubs are getting on go to the ASCA page.

Information when choosing a club
A working group focusing on club development has recently produced an information sheet for young people and their parents.  It is designed to give advice and prompt questions that they should be asking when thinking about joining a sports club.  Its particular focus is on the quality of the club in terms of child safety and protection and the promotion of sports clubs who are dedicated to providing safe and fun environments for all.

Read our practical pointers for joining clubs [PDF] (27KB) and provide it to all your new / prospective members.

If you want to find out more, please don't hesitate in contacting the Sports Development Officer for more information.
