Staff at the council have been finding out new ways of enhancing their health and fitness as part of their annual Healthy Living Week. In an attempt to ensure staff are more aware of the options available to them they have been taking part in taster and information sessions in activities such as Reiki, massage, exercise classes, salsa and creating their own healthy smoothies courtesy of the Smoothie Bike in the canteen area. Sessions have also focused on stress management, financial health checks and one to ones with a personal trainer.
The more adventurous staff have also signed up to taster rowing sessions with Guildford Rowing Club.

Employers can benefit from encouraging their staff to improve their health as it generally reduces the amount of sick days taken, improves staff morale along with improved concentration and productivity.
