Personal licences


For a new personal licence, you will need to submit the following:

If you change your address you need to:

  • Write to the licensing team giving your name, licence number, your new address and contact telephone numbers.
  • Pay the statutory fee of £10.50 
  • Return your paper licence
  • You do not have to return your photo ID card unless your address is on the reverse. If your address is on the reverse then you will need to supply a new passport photograph when you return the photo ID card.

If you lose either your paper licence or the photo ID card you need to:

  • Report your loss to the police and get a reference number.
  • Write to the licensing team saying that you have lost your licence and which part you have lost.
  • Give your name, licence number, your address and contact telephone numbers.
  • Pay the statutory fee of £10.50 
  • If you need a new photo ID card then you will need to supply a new passport photograph.

Application forms

A personal licence allows an individual to authorise the sale of alcohol. All premises selling alcohol will need one or more personal licence holders, one of whom will be named on the premises licence as the Designated Premises Supervisor.
