To apply for consent for street trading:
-
-
Choose a consent street on which to trade.
-
Seek planning permission on that consent street from our
planning department, who will be able to inform you of the costs involved.
-
Once planning permission is granted a period of consultation will occur with external parties. At this stage you must:
Complete the
street trading application form [
PDF] (19k).
Provide 2 passport photographs.
Provide evidence of public liability insurance.
Send all these to the Environmental Health and Licensing Services along with the
current annual fee.
-
If the proposal is refused then the annual fee for street trading consent, less an administrative fee of £10.00, will be refunded.
This process will take at least three months to complete.
Street traders need a consent for street trading. Street trading means the selling, exposing for sale or offering for sale of any article (including a living thing) or the supplying or offering to supply any service in a street for gain or reward.
A street includes any road, footway or other area that is within seven metres of a road or footway and is not enclosed and to which the public have access without payment.
