On schedule and in time for Christmas - an extra 280 park and ride spaces at the popular Artington site are now ready for shoppers, commuters and visitors to Guildford.
The new extension means that the Artington park and ride site has increased by nearly 70%, offering a total of 700 spaces for the public.
Lead Councillor for Environment, Cllr Jenny Wicks, comments: "The existing park and ride site at Artington opened in 2002 and has been extremely popular, often filling up with vehicles by mid morning. The additional spaces should help to meet customer demand and reduce traffic congestion in the town centre."
Buses run every 12 minutes and the return fare to the town centre is currently £1.20. Guildford Borough Council runs the park and ride car parks and Surrey County Council runs the park and ride bus services. For more information on park and ride facilities in Guildford, visit the environment pages.
