Honorary Alderman Sallie Thornberry sadly died on Wednesday 9 April. Arrangements for her funeral and a thanksgiving service have been confirmed.

Sallie’s funeral, for family and close friends, will take place at 10am on Friday 25 April at St Mary's Church, followed by cremation at 11.30am at Guildford Crematorium.

The family have requested that flowers should be sent to Pimms Funeral Service, Charters, Mary Road, Guildford, GU1 4QX by no later than 9am on Friday 25 April. Alternatively, donations to the Guildford/Mukono Link should be sent to Jim Rattray, Secretary, 59 Chantry View Road, Guildford, GU1 3XU.

Later on the same day, a  thanksgiving  service to celebrate Sallie's life will be held at 4pm at Holy Trinity Church,  Guildford High Street.
