Your say on council services - survey set to start

29 January 2008

Residents will be asked how satisfied they are with Guildford Borough Council and its services in a borough-wide survey starting this Monday 4 February.

Says Lead Councillor for Communications, Cllr Vas Kapsalis: “As we carry out this survey every few years, we can track trends of awareness, use and satisfaction with the council and its services among residents. It gives us valuable insight into any changes in attitudes and perceptions over time. If you get asked to take part, please do get involved - we need a wide cross-section of views from as many local people as possible. The results help us to understand more fully the needs of our residents so if necessary we can tailor our services to meet them”.

The survey which is usually carried out every two years by an independent market research agency involves face-to-face interviews with around 1000 residents across the borough and takes about three to four weeks to complete.

In a separate feedback survey, people taking part in the Recycling Works pilot scheme are being asked for their views on how the trial waste collection and recycling service is working for them. The trial scheme is giving residents the chance to try out one of the most comprehensive kerbside recycling collections in the country - everything from kitchen waste to textiles. The council’s recycling team will be out and about in parts of Merrow, Burpham and Park Barn until 29 February asking residents for their feedback. For more information please contact the recycling hotline on 01483 444499.
