4 October 2007
A by-election for Holy Trinity ward will be held on Thursday 8 November. The by-election follows the death of Cllr Michael Crocombe in August.
Residents not currently on the register in Holy Trinity ward will need to apply by Wednesday 24 October - 11 days before the election - if they wish to vote in the by-election. People who have already registered for the 2008 list still need to apply if they want to vote in the by-election because the new list will not be published until 1 December.
Lynda Murlewski, Electoral Services Manager, says: "Those people who have just moved in to Holy Trinity ward and wish to vote in the by-election will need to register on an individual basis for the 2007 register on which this by-election will be run. The annual canvass form, which has been recently sent to residents, is signed on behalf of the whole household and relates to next year's register only."
Absent voting change and application deadlines are as follows:
- postal votes - 5pm, Wednesday 24 October
- proxy votes - 5pm, Wednesday 31 October
- medical 'emergency' proxies are allowed up to 5pm on Thursday 8 November.
