Horsley and Send Cricket Club are now practising their skills in style thanks to a £4,300 Community and Youth Grant from Guildford Borough Council.
The funding has helped towards the refurbishment of existing equipment and the purchase of new cricket practice nets for junior members.
Cllr Jen Powell, Lead Councillor for People and Partnership, says: "A total of 65 organisations and 48 local young people were awarded an arts, sport, play or youth and community grant this year. The funding helps buy equipment, run activities and assist a variety of projects. An estimated 100,000 people across the borough also benefit, directly or indirectly, from the funding through new schemes, facilities or improvements. Horsley and Send Cricket Club is a good example of this, as their new facilities are enjoyed by both members and local schoolchildren."
