The legal team at Guildford Borough Council has been reaccredited with the Law Society's Lexcel quality mark following a successful inspection.
David Hill, Chief Executive of Guildford Borough Council, says: "The accreditation is great news for the council and our legal team. This independent quality mark recognises the hard work we put into providing effective services for local residents."
Lexcel is the Law Society's practice management quality mark. All types and size of legal practice, including in-house, local government and sole practitioners, can undergo the independent assessment. Initial certification is valid for three years, with annual monitoring visits and three-yearly full re-inspections.
The council's legal services team were the first legal practice in Surrey, either private or public, to be accredited, in 1999. The service has achieved renewal every year since.
