Some of the services we provide are chargeable. These include:

• Trade refuse collection
• Commercial rents
• Provision of meals on wheels
• Collection of overpaid housing benefits

We do not deal with council tax or housing rents. Methods of payment that we accept are on the back of the invoices we send out and are as follows:

• Cashiers Office at Millmead House
  • Opening hours – 8.30am – 4.30pm (4pm on Fridays)
  • Late night opening every Thursday 5pm – 8pm
  • Please produce the invoice intact at the time of payment
• By Post
  • Please detach the Bank Giro Credit slip at the bottom of the invoice and enclose it with your cheque or postal order made payable to ‘Guildford Borough Council’, and send to:

    If you require a receipt please tick the box at the back of the invoice and enclose the whole invoice with your cheque.
• Bank
  • Payment can be made at any bank using the Bank Giro Credit slip.  If payment is made at a bank other than HSBC or your own bank you may incur a charge.
• Post Office
  • Via Post Office National Giro). The council’s account number at the National Giro Centre is 302 7317. Payments made at the Post Office must be made in cash.  Please note: the Post Office will charge you for this service.
• By Credit/Debit Card
  • Online at our  Payments page
  • Telephone (automated service): 01483 444455
  • Please note there is a charge for ALL Credit Card transactions

Payment will only be regarded as having been made when it is actually received and identified in this department.

In all cases the invoice number must be quoted in order to ensure that your account is correctly credited.
