Technical help and browser security

Certificate problems
Some users are experiencing problems with our SSL certificate and are receiving an error to say that the certificate is not valid.  There are two possible reasons for this problem.  Either the date and time on your PC is set incorrectly or your Verisign public certificate has expired.  If the date and time on your PC is correct please download and install this certificate which will solve the problem.

Ensuring your card details remain secure
Please note, to ensure that your card details remain secure, you will only be able to make online payments if you have higher than Internet Explorer 5.5 or equivalent web browser installed on your PC. New or recent web browsers support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is an industry standard for internet payments. This means all of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when your details are transmitted over the Internet. This makes it virtually impossible for anyone else to discover and use your details.

Internet Explorer Users
Hover your mouse over the Security Padlock in the right-hand corner of your browser. This should display a pop-up of 'SSL Secured. If it is less than 128 bits please download the Internet Explorer High Encryption pack (this link opens in a new window) from the Microsoft website.
Internet Explorer

Firefox Users
Double click the padlock in the address bar to the right of the website address. On the security tab you should see a message saying "Connection Encrypted: High-grade Encryption (RC4 128 bit)". If this is not displayed change "http" to "https" in the address bar.

Netscape Users
Click on the Security Pad-lock in the right-hand corner of your browser. The Personal Security Manager should display a message in the centre of the page stating 'Connection Encrypted' and the encryption level. If this is below 128 bit please upgrade to the latest version of Netscape at
Netscape Products (this link opens in a new window).
