Headlines

• On 1 October 2008 significant changes to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 will come into force.  This will put into place a permitted development regime for householders, with a number of amendments to the existing legislation.
• Current Planning Enforcement cases can now be viewed using our new planning enforcement online service (this page opens in a new window).
• Use our website service to submit your Building Control applications online. Planning Applications may also be submitted electronically via the Planning Portal (this page opens in a new window).
• We have now adopted the new national and local lists for the validation of planning applications , in line with the 1APP national application forms.
• Please note that on April 6 2008 the use of the new 1APP forms  became mandatory and you are no longer able to submit applications using our old forms.  The fees associated with applications also changed from this date.

• On 24 September 2007 we received a Direction from the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government outlining which Guildford Borough Local Plan 2003 policies could be saved beyond September 2007.  The Direction from the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government  [PDF] (82k) has resulted in several Local Plan policies expiring, with implications for Planning Applications and the Guildford Development Framework. For more information and list of saved and expired policies, see our Local Plan page.
