The Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) is being produced as part of the Guildford Development Framework (GDF). The DPD will allocate specific sites for development to meet the need for a range of uses including employment, retail, residential, leisure and transport (including Park and Ride schemes).
As part of the Early Stakeholder and Community Engagement stage many potential development sites were suggested to us. From 21 November 2007 until 30 January 2008, we consulted on the suggested sites as part of the Issues and Options consultation. We received over 4000 responses to the consultation.
Summary of responses
We have produced a summary of the responses we received to the Site Allocations Issues and Options consultation. Please note, this is a summary of the comments most frequently made, rather than a repetition of all the comments received. The summary does not include the additional site suggestions made during the consultation. These will be included in the second Issues and Options consultation which will take place in 2009.
The summary can be downloaded by ward or as a whole document. The summaries are best read in conjunction with the original consultation documents, which are still available to download at the bottom of this page.
What happens next?
We have started the process of assessing the suitability of the sites suggested for residential development. This work is being carried out using the methodology of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment.
During the consultation, some additional site suggestions were made. We will consult you on these in 2009 during the second round of the Site Allocations Issues and Options consultation. We will then consult you at a later date on the sites which we think are suitable and should be allocated.
