| Guildford's art gallery is located in a grade 1 Listed seventeenth century town house. Guildford House has many surviving original features including a finely carved staircase, panelled rooms, decorative plaster ceilings and wrought iron window fittings. Selections from the Borough's Collection featuring pastel portraits by Guildford-born artist, John Russell, RA (1745 - 1806), contemporary craftwork, historical and modern paintings, drawings and prints. Varied temporary exhibition programme throughout the year including paintings of local and national importance, photography, craftwork and costume. |
