Step into a 'living picture of paradise' when you experience 158 acres of magnificent Georgian landscape and lake. Take a stroll along a historic route through a series of unfolding vistas known as "The Hamilton Landscapes".  Enjoy spectacular views across Surrey, an amazing crystal grotto plus many interesting and unusual Follies.

Discover the 18th century craze for exotic plants in our American Roots exhibition and see the NCCPG John Bartram Heritage Collection of North American Trees and Shrubs. Painshill has something to offer visitors throughout the year.


Opening Times

Open every day throughout the year including Bank Holidays (except Christmas Day & Boxing Day).

  • March to October
    10.30am - 6.00pm (last entry 4:30pm). 
  • November to February
    10.30am - 4.00pm or dusk if earlier (last entry 3.00pm).

  • Concessions £5.80
  • Accompanied children (5-16 years) £3.85, under 5's free
  • Family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) £22.00


Group Visits

Pre-booked Adult groups of 10+ £5.80 per person on weekdays.


Tours

All visits must be pre-booked. Two guided walks are available to groups of 10+ and are recommended:

  1. One and a half hours - follows part of the historic route around the lake (approximately 1 mile)
  2. Two and a half hours - covers the full historic circuit (approximately 2 miles).


Facilities

  • Visitor Centre with Hamiliton's Cafe/Licensed Restaurant which offers dishes ranging from sandwiches to hot meals.
  • Gift shop selling a variety of attractive gifts, china, cards, books and Painshill white, rose and sparkling wines.

Facilities for disabled visitors

Painshill has a wheelchair route. There is now an electric buggy available which will seat three people plus a guide, should visitors less able to walk require it. (must be pre-booked). Disabled toilets at the visitor centre, ramps to toilets and to shop/refreshment area.


Time

Allow one and a half or two and a half hours for guided walk.

Lifelong Learning from 5- 95. All Key Stages. Informal Learning. Tours, Talks and Lectures. Modern Education Centre is open all year - Please contact the Education Manager on 01932 868113.


Coach parking

8 coach parking spaces on site, 300 metres from attraction. Free tea or coffee for coach driver of pre-booked groups.

M25 J10 and A3 to London, west of Cobham on A245. Entrance 200 metre east of A245/A307 roundabout.
