Youth Council activities

Guildford Youth Council logo

The Youth Council is constantly working on activities and events for young people in the Guildford area.  And its not just for the benefit of Youth Council members, you can take advantage of the projects they work on too.

Recent activities include a Battle of the Bands contest to showcase local music talent, won by local rock band Dy-Star, and a new youth cafe at Costa Coffee in Guildford's Swan Lane where young people can meet.

A popular past project was 'The Complete Guide to Guildford' directory, which gives useful information on colleges and careers, food and drink, helplines and advice, sport and leisure, and transport.

Future projects the Youth Council will be working on include a celebration for the 10th anniversary of the skateboard park with the Youth Offending team, a joint project with twin town Freiburg and visiting and exchanging ideas and information with neighbouring youth councils.

Guildford Council regularly asks the Youth Council for advice on projects including arts, play, sport, youth and community grants, facilities for young people, the Town Centre Area Action Plan and youth and community centres.
