
I was elected as Conservative Councillor for Lovelace Ward in May 2003.
I am currently the Vice-Chairman of the Council's Planning Committee and also serve on the Licensing Committee and Licensing Regulatory Sub-Committee. I am also a member of of the Guildford Local Committee.
I am now retired after a busy career combining a family business with local politics. I was previously chairman and managing director of a building and civil engineering group of businesses, I served as mayor twice during my 20 year career as a Conservative borough councillor in Wandsworth. I also served as chairman of the Clapham Rail Disaster Fund.
I am involved with the Hilliers Charity, the Strategic Aviation Special Interest Group, Shopmobility Management, Sport Surrey, Wisley and Ockham Commons Liaison Groups, Guildford Taxi Advisory Group, the Tenants' Federation and the Ripley Society.
I am also a General Commissioner of Income Tax and Governor of the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in Putney.
